Yeast infection is characterized by lethargy, depression, headache, muscle aches, abdominal pain and discomfort, constipation, bloating and stomach distress, vaginal itching, prostatitis, vaginal yeast infection, menstrual irregularities, anxiety, cold hands and feet, hypothyroidism, irritability and cystitis. It is an infection of the gastrointestinal tract caused by fungi of the family Cryptococcaceae and Moniliales that produce yeast cells. The resulting condition is an infection usually referred to as candidiasis caused by the pathogen C. albicans. C. albicans may also be the cause of infections of the skin, nails, mouth, and vagina as well as the intestinal tract.
