Osteomalacia is characterized by bone pain, muscle weakness, pelvic pain, low back pain, irregular heartbeat, numbness and tingling around mouth, hands and feet and shuffling walk. It is a condition, usually caused by a deficiency in Vitamin D, in which bone formation is insufficient leading to soft bones.  It is diagnosed as rickets.
