Mastocytosis is characterized by breathing difficulty, enlarged liver, enlarged spleen, chest pain and swelling. It is a disorder of abnormal accumulation of specific cells in connective tissue.  The  lungs, bone, skin, and sometimes the membrane surrounding the brain and spine may be affected.
