Epstein Barr Virus is characterized by fever, sore throat, appetite loss, fatigue, swollen glands, enlarged spleen, enlarged liver, jaundice and headache. It is  a contagious viral infection from the herpes virus family that infects as many as 95% of people during their lifetime. Infections can occur in babies; when the infection occurs in adolescents and young people, it causes infectious mononucleosis 35-50% of the time. It affects the liver, respiratory system and lymph nodes
