E.Coli Infection is characterized by diarrhea, abdominal cramps and blood mucus in stools. It is a severe bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract caused by the escherichia coli strain of bacteria that normally lives in the intestines of humans and animals.  This bacteria can produce a toxin that causes a severe infection.  Infections are usually associated with eating undercooked, contaminated ground beef.
