Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome is characterized by palpitations, chest pain, fatigue, heart murmur and breathing difficulty. It is an anatomical dysfunction of the valves in the heart detected as improper closure that permits leakage of a small amount of blood back into one of the heart's chambers; it is usually detected as a murmur during a physical exam.
