HIV/AIDS is characterized by respiratory and skin infections, fatigue, diarrhea, weight loss, fever, swollen glands and enlarged spleen. It refers to a failing immune system, when the body cannot successfully fight infections or suppress growth of abnormal cells like those in cancers.
