Diabetes Mellitus is characterized by elevated blood glucose levels, vomiting, nausea, appetite loss, weight loss, hunger, vaginal itching and thirst.  It is a disease in which the body is unable to process carbohydrates, leading to emaciation, weakness and eventually coma.  The disease is associated with progressive deterioration of small vessels affecting the eye and the kidney.
