Cerebral Palsy is characterized by lack of muscle tone, listlessness, slow development in infants, unusual body posture in children, muscle stiffness, muscle spasms, poor balance in young children, crossed eyes, convulsions and mental retardation. It is a muscular and nervous system disorder that begins in childhood and is observed as exaggerated reflexes, walking on toes and a crouched gait. It eventually leads to disability.
