Asthma is characterized by fatigue, persistent cough, general weakness, confusion, wheezing, shortness of breath, pressure in chest, anxiety, rapid heart rate and elevated blood pressure. It is usually an allergic reaction to animal hairs, plant pollen, dust, feathers, and foods or chemicals.  The reaction causes the airways in the lungs to swell and close-up leading to breathing difficulty.
