Anemia is characterized by paleness, general weakness, susceptibility to infections, spontaneous bleeding from nose and mouth, rectal bleeding, mouth and nose ulcers, headache, nausea, irregular heartbeat and abdominal pain and discomfort. It is a disease in which production of blood cells is decreased.
